Besnik Tahiri: There is no seriousness or political will to elect the president
The head of the Alliance parliamentary group, Besnik Tahiri, said after the meeting of the Assembly Presidency that “there is no seriousness and no political will to elect the president”. He said the delays so far with the non-constitution of institutions and the successive elections are not attributable to the Alliance, but “to the political address and responsibilities of the parties that make up the majority”.
Tahiri said LVV, as the ruling party, bears the main responsibility, adding that “had there been seriousness and political will, neither the prime minister nor party leaders would have slept trying to give Kosovo a solution”.
He sharply criticized Prime Minister Albin Kurti, saying that “the fact that the leader of a party who is also prime minister spends a whole week in New York and does not convene for a week over what happened in The Hague shows total irresponsibility”.
Tahiri also expressed support for the legal changes to the Specialist Chambers: “I gave support to the PDK parliamentary group in their initiative for the law that is already in the Government. Whatever initiative the Alliance brings that helps justice and the return of the liberators, I will support,” he said.
