Bijelo Polje: minor came to school with a knife; students reveal an “elimination list”

On Friday, a minor came to a Bijelo Polje high school at around 3:00 p.m. carrying a knife (a so-called “skakavac”); the knife was noticed by a female student during class, who alerted the school administration, then the police — as Vijesti reports.

During conversations with students, according to Vijesti’s reporting, investigators learned more serious facts: other students confirmed that at the end of the last school year the minor had prepared what they describe as an “elimination list,” referring to the mass killing at the “Vladislav Ribnikar” elementary school in Belgrade.

According to Vijesti’s unofficial sources from the investigation, on August 30 the minor had also published in a Snapchat group an “elimination map,” prepared when he was still a ninth-grade student, with the school premises drawn in — classrooms, corridors and the teachers’ office — together with names or nicknames; police are said to have collected material confirming the existence of this post.

The minor, who had finished elementary school as an excellent student, claimed he had forgotten the knife in his tracksuit and that he used it to “sharpen incense sticks”; inspectors continued verifications and conversations with students who had attended the same elementary school, and the minor’s mother was also questioned.

Police and the Prosecution in Bijelo Polje had earlier announced that a criminal complaint had been filed against the minor on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of “causing panic and disorder,” and that the minor’s parents and the Center for Social Work had been ordered to exercise increased supervision over him — the new facts were revealed by Vijesti through multiple independent sources.
