Six prisoners were injured, one of them in serious condition, after a brawl between Albanian and Algerian prisoners at Domokos prison, in the Fthiotida prefecture in central Greece, as the Albanian portal lajmmsot.com reports, citing local Greek media.

According to reports, the fight broke out yesterday afternoon for reasons still unknown. The six injured, aged 26 to 41, were first taken to the Domokos Health Center, while four of them were later transferred to Lamia Hospital.

One of the prisoners, who had suffered serious head wounds, underwent immediate surgery and his health condition remains serious, according to the portal. Another prisoner, wounded with a makeshift knife, is out of danger for his life after medical intervention.

Yesterday’s event is the third similar incident recorded at the same prison within about a month and a half, raising the alarm of prison authorities in Greece. In the brawl recorded about 15 days ago in Domokos, five people were injured, as lamiareport.gr reported.
