CIA report on Russian attacks, Macron: We were not informed

French President Emmanuel Macron has denied reports that the CIA had warned France of a possible Russian drone operation against Southern European countries.

Macron said French services had received no such information, while Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto said the alert reported by the Spanish newspaper “El Mundo” was unconfirmed.

However, Macron warned that the Russian threat to Europe remains real and that such an attack is possible.

He also referred to Moscow’s hybrid campaign and the drone attack on Leipzig airport, which German authorities have attributed to Russia.

The French president also said a new Russian mobilization of around 300,000 troops is a credible scenario, at a time when Moscow continues its war for control of the Donbas.
