Kosovo Customs and Police prevent a smuggling case in Merdar

As part of the work and checks of Kosovo Customs, in close cooperation with the Kosovo Police, smuggling was prevented at the border point in Merdar.

“During the checks using specialised equipment and tools, a transport vehicle (van) was stopped for inspection, which was loaded on a tow truck and bore foreign plates, and during the detailed inspection of this vehicle, precisely in the upper part of the van between the upholstery and the ceiling (above the van’s ceiling), the authorities discovered and seized under the laws in force: Type of goods: Vape (cigarettes/tobacco products) with cannabis / or similar narcotic substances. Quantity seized: 204 pieces,” Kosovo Customs said in its announcement.

The case is being handled by the competent investigative units of Kosovo Customs and Police for further legal action, including in relation to the transport vehicle.
