Ćinćur: Mandić’s condolences over Mladić condemnable, but toppling the majority endangers the European path

Independent MP in the Montenegrin Assembly Radinka Ćinćur has called it condemnable that Assembly Speaker Andrija Mandić publicly published a telegram of condolences for the son of Ratko Mladić, adding that the opposition is trying to profit from Mandić’s mistake. As Vijesti and Dan report, her statements were published in a Facebook post.

Ćinćur said the European Commission and much of Montenegro’s political public are not satisfied with Mandić’s statements, but that far greater damage would be the delay in meeting the final and most difficult conditions for closing the chapters by the end of 2026 or the beginning of 2027.

According to the independent MP, the only question is whether Mandić’s act damages Montenegro’s European path more than toppling the parliamentary majority at a moment when the final laws for the closing benchmarks must be adopted.

She added that the opposition’s desire to profit from the Assembly Speaker’s mistake is its right, but asked whether this campaign obliges all MPs on whom the largest opposition party relies — “No!”. Ćinćur also strongly condemned the attacks seen in recent days against MPs Armen Šehović and Albina Ćeman, who did not line up with the initiators of the move to topple the parliamentary majority.
