“Come a day early” — Berisha’s call from the DP group for Thursday’s national protest in front of Parliament: No flags
The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has warned that a youth and civic protest, without political symbols, is expected to take place on October 8 against the Territorial Reform.
Berisha, in his speech before the DP group, announced the protest, linking it to the objections against the proposed reform and the changes to the country’s administrative map.
According to Berisha, the reform envisages the dissolution of 15 more municipalities, describing the changes as a decision-making process that directly affects local communities.
“With one stroke of the pen, 15 more municipalities are extinguished,” Berisha declared, calling for participation in the October 8 protest.
He called on all supporters to come to Tirana even a night before.
“The protest is at 10:00 in front of Parliament against the Territorial Reform. A youth protest, without party flags and symbols. Come even 1 day before to Tirana — it is an important protest,” he said, among other things.
