Declared ‘Non Grata’ by the U.S., Berisha Says He Has No Invitation to the Ceremony Introducing Eric Wendt as Ambassador

Democratic Party chairman Sali Berisha, answering questions from his followers on Facebook on Saturday (September 26), commented on the start of the mission of the new U.S. Ambassador to Albania, Eric Wendt. He also spoke about the National Security Council meeting called by President Bajram Begaj.

Asked whether he was invited to the ceremony the U.S. Embassy will organize on October 2 to introduce the new ambassador, Berisha said he had no knowledge of the event. “I welcome the ambassador; I have no knowledge of the ceremony,” Berisha said.

On the National Security Council meeting, called for Monday by President Begaj over the case of former SHISH chief Vlora Hyseni, Berisha said he had received no invitation to attend. “I have received no invitation,” the DP chairman said.
