Demo meets EU ambassador: stronger cooperation on security and European integration

Interior Minister Ervin Demo received the European Union Ambassador to Albania, Sofia Moreira de Sousa, on Monday for talks on strengthening cooperation in the field of security and Albania’s priorities in the integration process.

The talks focused on the European Union’s support for building the capacities of the State Police, the fight against organized crime and the recovery of criminal assets, as well as border and migration management, in line with European standards and Schengen requirements.

Minister Demo stressed that, at this stage of the integration process, the objective is to build stronger institutions, strengthen inter-institutional and international cooperation, and deliver concrete, measurable and sustainable results.

“The partnership with the European Union will continue to support reforms and Albania’s advancement on the road to membership,” Demo said.
