“Do you want to join the EU as a narco-state?” Noka and Nazarko clash over how a government is toppled
Democratic Party Secretary General Flamur Noka and journalist Mentor Nazarko engaged in a debate over how a government can be toppled.
Below, the debate held in the studio of “Off the Record” with Andrea Danglli, on A2CNN:
Nazarko: Where do you get this information? Do you get it from SPAK?
Noka: I have my own sources of information because I am the opposition of this country.
Nazarko: If SPAK leaks these things, even one of them, I think that is a breach of security.
Noka: I have been a statesman; I can never reveal a source, under any circumstances. Let’s focus on the issue. Should this man stay any longer? Should this man go, he who is the head of the narcos in this country?
Nazarko: The more you say he should not stay, the more you confirm your powerlessness to bring him down.
Noka: Mr. Nazarko, let me ask you a question: how is a government toppled? Tell me.
Nazarko: I have said it: SPAK, protests and the internationals need to be aligned. You are not aligned with the internationals.
Noka: You are a fatalist. You always wait on others.
Nazarko: You are the fatalists, because you say “with this one we cannot win elections”.
Noka: You have a narco-state!
Nazarko: But they want to take us into the EU. That is what I said. They want to take us into the EU.
Noka: Well, are you happy to go as a narco-state?
Nazarko: Look, I want to join the EU.
Noka: As a narco-state? To be led by Gysi.
Nazarko: No, no. Gysi — those institutions that you voted for brought him before justice.
Noka: But the damage he has done to Albania? And that other one who was removed from Kosovo on suspicion of collaborating with the Serbian secret service.
Nazarko: If you say the government lies about everything, you are not credible. Your claim that when they removed her, they removed her over that accusation is hard to believe. I have heard people’s interviews. They removed her because of political rotation, because she was accused of being used by a political wing. She has since passed through filters.
Noka: No, no. She has not passed any filter.
