Dukaj with the foreign ministers of Czechia, Austria and Slovakia: we are strengthening Montenegro’s cybersecurity
Montenegro’s Minister of Public Administration, Marash Dukaj, hosted at the Government Security Operations Centre (G-SOC) the foreign ministers of the three S3 group countries — Czech Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Petr Macinek, Austrian Foreign Minister Beate Meinl-Reisinger and Slovak Foreign Minister Juraj Blanar, as Pobjeda reports.
During the visit, the guests were introduced to how G-SOC operates and to Montenegro’s capacities in the field of cybersecurity. Dukaj stressed that G-SOC, which works 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, is the key mechanism for the continuous monitoring of the public administration’s network infrastructure and for a timely response to cyber threats.
The minister recalled that when European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and Prime Minister Milojko Spajiq opened the centre in October 2024, entirely new foundations of digital security were laid in Montenegro. The idea for creating G-SOC arose after the major cyberattack on the government’s IT infrastructure in August 2022.
A special focus of the visit was deepening international cooperation, exchanging best practices and organising joint training. The ministers also visited the WB3C Regional Cyber Capacity Centre.
“By strengthening these capacities, Montenegro is positioning itself firmly as a reliable partner in defending shared European values and as a state taking an ever more important role in strengthening cybersecurity in the Western Balkans,” Minister Dukaj said, according to the announcement of the Ministry of Public Administration.
