“Families have waited long enough!”: Minister Demo visits Kombinat, urges reconstruction to move at pace — “all the way to the new home’s key”

Clearing works have begun on “Shaban Bardhoshi” street in Kombinat, Tirana, paving the way for the construction of new homes for families still awaiting the completion of the reconstruction process.

The works, undertaken by the Municipality of Tirana, will run in parallel with interventions to improve infrastructure around already-built apartment blocks, aiming to create a more organized and functional environment for residents.

During the visit, Interior Minister Ervin Demo met with families and inspected the progress of the works, stressing the need for full coordination between institutions and for the process to be accelerated.

“Reconstruction must move at pace. Families have waited long enough. Now there must be work, every day, all the way to the new home’s key,” the minister said.

The interventions in Kombinat aim to move forward the reconstruction process, which suffered delays, and to improve living conditions for families affected by the 2019 earthquake.
