Farka Air Base gets new commander as Kaloshi replaces Buzi; Minister Nufi: the Air Force is the backbone of the Armed Forces
Lieutenant Colonel Bedri Kaloshi took over on Monday, September 14, as commander of the Farka Air Base, succeeding Lieutenant Colonel Ervin Buzi in the role.
The change-of-command ceremony was attended by Defense Minister Ermal Nufi; the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Arben Kingji; the Commander of the Air Force, Brigadier General Edmond Voci; as well as officers and personnel of the Air Base.
Minister Nufi praised the commitment of Air Force personnel in tackling fires and civil emergencies:
“Behind them stand people who serve the Homeland, the community and Albanians to protect them from natural disasters. This is the fulfillment of the mission. These are the people who were desperately sought at four and five in the morning in Kruja; at four and five in the morning in Himara; at four and five in the morning in Levan. With people saying: ‘Oh God, when will morning come, so the helicopter comes.’ Extraordinary gratitude to all of you, to the entire Air Force, to every servicemember!” said Nufi.
Minister Nufi thanked Lieutenant Colonel Ervin Buzi for 20 years of service and especially for his work leading the Farka Air Base, while congratulating the new commander, Lieutenant Colonel Bedri Kaloshi, on the appointment and asking him to continue the good work done so far by all the personnel of the Farka Air Base.
