Fidan: Turkey and Other Countries Presented New Conditions to the U.S. and Iran to End the War
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said Turkey and other countries have presented new conditions to the United States and Iran to end the war, making every effort to bring the negotiation process to a conclusion. In an interview with Turkish television NTV, Fidan said: “Turkey and other countries are presenting proposals and making every effort to bring the negotiations between the United States and Iran to a conclusion.”
According to him, the main obstacle remains the deep lack of trust between the sides. He recalled that the sides had previously reached an agreement in Pakistan, but problems arose in its implementation. “Now both sides are clearly trying to move this process forward in a way that secures their interests,” Fidan said.

Fidan also said the economic consequences of the conflict have begun to exceed what the affected countries can tolerate, citing serious disruptions to energy supply routes — an “extremely difficult” situation for countries like Turkey that rely heavily on imported energy. He linked this to the cumulative effect of attacks on energy infrastructure in the Russia–Ukraine war.
Ankara is also closely following Israeli statements portraying Turkey as a threat — Fidan linked them to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s effort to strengthen his political position inside Israel, casting himself as irreplaceable.
