Fire on Mount Bukanik remains active, hundreds of personnel in the field to extinguish the flames

The situation created by the fire on Mount Bukanik remains difficult, while the flames have been active for several days.

Hundreds of employees and forces engaged in the field are continuing without interruption their efforts to extinguish the fire, in cooperation with the Armed Forces and with the support of aerial intervention.

Strong wind and the steep mountain terrain, where intervention with vehicles is difficult, are favouring the spread of the flames and hindering the work of the forces in the field.

Despite the situation, there is currently no reported risk to homes or businesses. All structures are engaged in the field and are working at full capacity to isolate, bring under control and extinguish the fire outbreaks.
