Polish 27-year-old arrested in Kruja, suspected of 3 thefts in hotels and bars

A 27-year-old Pole has been arrested in Kruja, after he was suspected of having carried out three thefts in hotels and bars during the past week. The police operation was codenamed “The Cyclist”.

Foreign citizen Tomasz Fortuna, 27, residing in England, has been taken into custody. According to the Police, he moved around the town of Kruja by bicycle and is suspected of having taken sums of money, a mobile phone and other items.

During the search, Police services seized as material evidence the mobile phone, a sum of money, and the bicycle suspected of having been used in carrying out the thefts.

The Police continue work to document other cases of theft the 27-year-old may have carried out.

The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecution for further action, for the criminal offence of “Theft”.
