Gara: Families of the missing deserve the truth and justice

Kushtrim Gara of the Government Commission on Missing Persons welcomed today’s Kosovo Police operation in Zubin Potok, where nine people were arrested on suspicion of war crimes against the civilian population.

“The families of the missing deserve the truth and justice,” Gara said, as RTK reports, adding that the operation shows institutions are taking concrete steps to shed light on the crimes of the war.

The Kosovo Police conducted the operation in the early morning hours in several locations in the municipality of Zubin Potok, arresting nine suspects on suspicion of having committed war crimes against the civilian population during 1998–1999.

All those arrested have been sent to 48-hour detention, while the Basic Prosecution in Mitrovica is handling the case further.
