Gaza death toll reaches 74,229 killed, the Health Ministry announces

The number of people killed since the start of Israel’s war in Gaza has risen to 74,229, while the overall number of wounded has reached 172,069, as Al Jazeera reports, citing Gaza’s Health Ministry.

In the 24-hour reporting period, seven people were killed, including two who died of wounds sustained earlier, while 24 others were wounded.

Since the so-called “ceasefire” of October 2024, 1,445 Palestinians have been killed, 5,052 wounded and 714 bodies have been recovered from the rubble, according to the ministry. On Thursday, a mass funeral was held in Gaza after 105 bodies were recovered from the rubble in the Yarmouk neighbourhood, in western Gaza City.
