Now even closer to the diaspora – Telegrafi launches its new edition in Switzerland, details from the event in Zurich

Telegrafi has now expanded its presence in Switzerland with the launch of the new Telegrafi Diaspora edition, at an event held on Friday evening in Zurich, attended by representatives from media, culture, business and the Albanian community.

The project follows the launch of Telegrafi’s presence in Switzerland in May this year, in cooperation with Plan B Creative, and now aims to create a dedicated space for Albanians living in Switzerland and in other European countries.

Telegrafi Diaspora will focus on the stories of compatriots, professional achievements, the challenges of life in exile, community activities, and developments that directly affect the Albanian diaspora.

Ridvan Murati, head of Plan B Creative and strategic partner of the project, said one of the main aims is to document the stories of Albanians who have built their lives in Switzerland, but also to create more content in the Albanian language for the younger generations.

Telegrafi’s CEO, Gentian Lluka, announced that the platform aims to expand with content in German and in other languages of the countries where Albanians live.

He stressed that Telegrafi counts around 300,000 active readers a year in Switzerland alone.

Enver Robelli, author and content consultant at Telegrafi Diaspora, spoke about the importance of fact-based journalism and the role of the media in addressing political and social issues affecting foreign communities in Europe.

Telegrafi’s editor-in-chief, Muhamet Hajrullahu, also spoke at the event, stressing that the expansion into Switzerland coincides with the 20th anniversary of Telegrafi’s founding and marks a new step in its relationship with the Albanian diaspora.

“This year Telegrafi celebrates its 20th anniversary and until now we have been the voice of the diaspora from Pristina. From today onwards we will be the voice of the diaspora from Switzerland. We will be the voice of the diaspora on all topics,” Hajrullahu declared.

He stressed that the physical presence in Switzerland aims to bring Telegrafi even closer to the Albanian community there and to give more space to topics related to the life, activities, challenges and successes of the diaspora.

With an expanded team, an office in Zurich and a dedicated front page, Telegrafi Diaspora aims to be a stronger bridge of information between Albanians in exile and their homeland, bringing more news, interviews, accounts and stories from the Albanian community in Switzerland and beyond. /Telegrafi/
