Gjakova protests for former KLA leaders, with Ferdonije Qerkezi among participants
A protest against the guilty verdict for former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army was held in Gjakova on Sunday evening, called by the group “Kuqezinjtë e Jakovës” (The Red-and-Blacks of Jakova).
Many citizens took part in the protest march, expressing support for the former KLA leaders held in The Hague.
Ferdonije Qerkezi also took part in the protest — she lost her husband and four sons during the war in Kosovo.
The march was held under the motto “Not in my name,” with participants opposing the verdict and demanding justice for the former KLA leaders.
The protest ended with participants lighting flares.
The Gjakova rally is part of the reactions unfolding in support of the former KLA leaders following the verdict announced by the Specialist Chambers in The Hague.
