Gogu After the Hague Verdict: “The KLA’s War Was a Just War; No Court Decision Changes That”

Justice Minister Toni Gogu has reacted after the verdict of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague against the former KLA leaders, Hashim Thaçi, Jakup Krasniqi, Kadri Veseli and Rexhep Selimi. He called the verdict a grave moment for Kosovo, for Albanians wherever they are, and for the whole world.

“Today our minds are with those who fought for freedom and with all those who paid for that freedom with their lives,” Gogu said.

The minister stressed that the character of the KLA’s war is not called into question by the court decision. “The KLA’s war was a just war. No court decision changes this historical truth,” he said.

“On this difficult day, my thoughts are with the citizens of Kosovo,” the minister’s statement concluded.
