“Hadestown” extends West End run to December 2027: new booking period for the Tony-winning musical

The musical Hadestown will stay in the West End for many more months. Producers announced a new booking period for the show at London’s Lyric Theatre: from Tuesday, June 29, 2027, to Sunday, December 12, 2027. Public ticket sales for this period opened on Friday, September 25, 2026, at noon UK time.

The new extension takes the show beyond the previously announced final date of June 27, 2027, and adds the autumn and early winter months to the calendar. The production remains in the same venue, with no change of location or format — a signal that the London residency is nowhere near its end.

The cast for the final period of 2027 will be confirmed by the production in a later announcement. The current on-stage edition stars Olivier Award winner Danielle de Niese as Persephone and Shaun Dooley as Hades; the role of Orpheus is held by Nathan Sykes of The Wanted, while Eurydice is played by Fayth Ifil.

Hadestown, with music, book and lyrics by Anaïs Mitchell and directed by Rachel Chavkin, is the folk-jazz retelling of the myths of Orpheus and Eurydice, and of Hades and Persephone. The Broadway transfer won eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical, while the original album won the Grammy for Best Musical Theater Album.

The musical continues to draw new audiences with the new 2026 trailer and with the film version “Hadestown: The Musical,” which arrives in UK cinemas following the live filming of three London shows in 2025, as British Theatre reports.
