Hamza calls for unity from MPs over the Law on Speciale: It is not the PDK’s law
The chairman of the PDK, Bedri Hamza, thanked the MPs of the Assembly who voted for the review of the Draft Law on amending the Law on the Specialist Chambers and its inclusion on the agenda, through an accelerated procedure.
Speaking in the Assembly session, Hamza said that this issue, according to him, exceeds the dimensions of a political party or of a government’s mandate, linking it with the history, the present and the future of Kosovo.
He stressed that “this is not the PDK’s law”, calling on all MPs to support it unanimously.
“We have believed in justice, we continue to believe in justice, we seek justice,” Hamza said.
He described the process of creating the Specialist Chambers as an important process for Kosovo and for all the MPs who took part in the decision-making on their establishment.
Hamza said that the issue of the “joint criminal enterprise” constitutes, according to him, one of the main problems of this matter.
The PDK chairman stressed that his party’s initiative does not aim to obstruct justice or to close the Special Court.
“We are not asking for crime not to be tried and for there to be no justice. Every victim should have their own right to seek justice,” he said.
Hamza added that the PDK is not asking for the closure of the Special Court, but is asking, as he said, for oversight, accountability and implementation of the laws and the Constitution of Kosovo, as Telegrafi reports.
