Ibrahimoviq: Bilateral issues with Croatia should be separated from Montenegro’s European path
Montenegro’s Foreign Minister, Ervin Ibrahimoviq, stated that bilateral issues between Podgorica and Zagreb should be separated from the process of Montenegro’s accession to the European Union, according to the MINA agency, cited by the CdM portal.
At a press conference, Ibrahimoviq responded to journalists’ questions about claims of Croatian demands on Montenegro worth nearly three billion euros. He stressed that such an official demand has never reached him — and it was not among the open issues when he took office as Foreign Minister either.
“When I took office as Foreign Minister, around ten open issues were waiting for me on the table. At that time this issue was not on the table, and I have not received it on the table now,” Ibrahimoviq said, according to the MINA agency, cited by CdM.
The Montenegrin chief diplomat underlined that bilateral issues are resolved through bilateral contacts and dialogue, while the negotiating process with the European Union should move forward with the fulfilment of the required reforms.
