“I’m not here to retell it”: Luarasi speaks in Parliament about the incident with protesters
Socialist Party MP Iris Luarasi spoke in Thursday’s plenary session about the incident several days earlier with protesters, as she was heading to Parliament.
Emphasizing algorithms on social media, Luarasi said her video with the protesters was seen by millions of people, adding that after its publication around 730 punitive or potentially violent comments were identified.
According to Luarasi, the comments included calls for her punishment with prison, disappearance, hanging, burning or shooting.
“All of you have seen that a week ago, as I was coming toward the plenary session, I was chased by a group that looked to me like Enver’s pioneers, who were shouting insults that I don’t think I deserve. This was a video seen by millions of people. I’m not here to retell it, but I’m here to tell what happened after the video. Because that’s where the issue lies that this convention aims to regulate. What followed was monitored independently, publication after publication. In 5 days, the name was mentioned in 708 articles, in 64 online media, in 134 named accounts. The overall reach 14.9 million. Views 4.8 million. 80% of all this happened within 48 hours. Of these, 730 punitive or potentially violent comments: prison, disappearance, hanging, burning, shooting,” Luarasi said, among other things.
