Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman accuses the White House of “projection”: “Accusations against Tehran describe the U.S.’s own actions”

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei has accused the administration of President Donald Trump of “projection,” saying the U.S. accusations against Tehran describe “the very actions that the United States has initiated, carried out or supported.”

In a post on the X platform on Saturday, Baqaei called the White House’s list of accusations against Iran a “flight from reality,” citing the biblical verse: “‘The wicked flee when no one pursues them’ (Proverbs 28:1).”

Baqaei’s statement comes at a tense diplomatic moment, as Tehran and Washington exchange reciprocal accusations over the escalation of the conflict in the region, with the U.S.–Iran war entering its seventh month.
