Israel resumes shelling in southern Lebanon: Haddatha, Baraachit, al-Mansouri and Majdal Zoun hit

Israeli artillery has resumed shelling in southern Lebanon, hitting the outskirts of the municipalities of Haddatha and Baraachit, Lebanon’s national news agency reports, as Al Jazeera reports.

According to the same report, the shelling also hit the municipalities of al-Mansouri and Majdal Zoun overnight. The report gives no details on the consequences of the attacks.

The shelling comes a day after the Israeli airstrike on Haddatha, while the Lebanese front remains one of the most active fronts of the war between Israel and Iran, with almost daily exchanges of fire along Lebanon’s southern border.

The Israeli army has intensified operations in southern Lebanon in recent weeks, striking targets it describes as Hezbollah positions, while Lebanese authorities regularly report damage to civilian infrastructure in the border areas.
