Israeli forces enter the Quneitra countryside in southern Syria, Syrian state media reports

Israeli forces have entered an area west of the village of Saida al-Hanout, in the southern countryside of Quneitra in southern Syria, with two tanks and other military vehicles, as Al Jazeera reports, citing Syrian state television Al-Ikhbariya.

According to Al-Ikhbariya, the troops opened fire indiscriminately towards the area’s residential neighbourhoods.

The incident comes a day after Israeli forces also opened fire in the neighbouring province of Daraa in southern Syria, marking an expansion of the Israeli military presence across the border.

Israel has not yet officially commented on the latest entry into Quneitra.
