Italian Super Cup to be played in Milan

After four years in Saudi Arabia, the Italian Super Cup returns to Italy. The final between Inter and Lazio will be played at “San Siro” on December 22; only official confirmation is awaited.

Indirect confirmation comes from the fixture calendar with early and late kickoff times published by Lega Serie A: both clubs involved will play their matchday 16 fixtures ahead of the usual schedule.

Both the Frosinone–Lazio and the Lecce–Inter matches are scheduled for Friday, December 18. The final itself is planned to be played four days later at the “Meazza” stadium.

After the recent editions held abroad and the “Final Four” format, this season marks a return to the single-match format played in Italy.

Napoli won the last Super Cup by beating Italiano’s Bologna 2–0, while Milan and Inter were eliminated in the semifinals.
