Kallas on the Russian drone attack on the train near Poland: The aim is to frighten the countries backing Ukraine

Sunday’s Russian drone attack on a train at Ukraine’s border with Poland, a NATO member, was aimed at frightening Western countries that support Ukraine, EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said on Monday.

“I think we should do the opposite. We should show that we are here for Ukraine and that we are not afraid,” she told reporters in Rovaniemi, Finland, where she is attending a summit on Arctic strategy.

A similar statement was made by French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot at the same summit in Finland, who stressed that the Russian attack on a train near the Ukraine–Poland border was aimed at frightening and dividing Europeans.
