Call for the killing of Rexhep Selimi in the comments of a Facebook post

A commenter has called for the killing of the former head of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), Rexhep Selimi, in the comments section of a Gazeta Sinjali post on Facebook.

The comment was published on a post titled “Rexhep Selimi’s artistic spirit was not imprisoned: His painting for the KLA is unveiled,” which dealt with a painting made by Selimi and presented on Top Channel’s “ArtKand” programme.

The person who wrote the comment uses the name Albesian Kelmendi on his Facebook profile. However, the identity of the person behind this profile has not been independently confirmed.

In the comment, the person made a direct call for the killing of Selimi, using language inciting violence against the former KLA member.

Rexhep Selimi has been convicted at first instance by the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague, with 13 years of imprisonment.
