Kordiq from Baku: Montenegro offers investors stability, predictability and transparency
Montenegro’s Minister of Tourism, Simonida Kordiq, took part in the Second International Investment Forum in Azerbaijan, in Baku, where around 3,000 participants from 40 countries gathered — representatives of governments and international institutions, global investors, financial institutions and business leaders, according to a Mediabiro report quoted by Vijesti.
Kordiq said Montenegro is recording strong tourism and investment growth. She said Montenegro offers international investors stability, predictability and transparency, with a clear state orientation toward quality, long-term sustainable investment. “The results are already visible. Montenegro is today home to leading international hotel brands, among them One&Only, Aman, Regent, Hilton, Hyatt, The Chedi, Swissôtel, Mövenpick… Their presence is important to us not only for the additional accommodation capacity. These brands bring international management standards, expertise, access to global markets and, what is especially important, additional confidence in Montenegro as a safe and promising investment destination,” Kordiq said.
She also noted Montenegro’s increasingly important role on the multilateral plane: the country chairs the Commission for Europe at the World Tourism Organization. Tourism, the largest economic branch in Montenegro, is recording strong growth, while the country’s investment potential is expanding further beyond the traditionally most attractive coastal zones. Kordiq singled out the north of Montenegro, which this year recorded record tourism results and represents space with considerable potential for new, quality and sustainable investments.
During the visit to Baku, Kordiq met with Mir Jamal Pashayev, deputy chairman of the Managing Board of Pasha Holding, as well as with Emin Agalarov, founder and owner of Sea Breeze Resort; current and future investment projects were discussed, while her interlocutors emphasised the perception of Montenegro among Azerbaijani citizens as a safe tourism destination, according to Vijesti.
