LeBron James aims to give Joel Embiid the blueprint for winning a title with the 76ers

LeBron James has presented himself as a reinforcement aiming to help the Philadelphia 76ers reach their main goal: an NBA title. He hopes to share with Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey the experience and work ethic that bring victory at the highest level.

As Bleacher Report reports, on the latest episode of the ‘Mind the Game’ podcast LeBron said he wants to give Embiid and Maxey a clear blueprint of what it takes to win at the highest levels. He noted that Embiid has achieved many personal and commercial milestones but is missing a championship, and LeBron hopes to be the piece that helps him get past that hurdle by sharing the daily routine and mindset needed for success.

The phrase “The Process” went from a slogan of hope to a subject of criticism as the 76ers failed to advance as expected. In nine playoff appearances in the Embiid era, the team has never gone past the second round; last season’s sweep elimination by the New York Knicks heightened the need for roster changes.

After that clash, the front office changed its approach, but the team’s three core pieces remain: Embiid, Maxey and VJ Edgecombe. Adding LeBron and Jaylen Brown tasks coach Nick Nurse with building new chemistry, while LeBron’s experience and durability — at least 60 games in each of the last three seasons — were seen as a significant asset.

LeBron and Brown’s presence is expected to take some burden off Embiid, giving the team scoring options in clutch moments; Embiid can thus remain the central figure without having to be the best every night for the 76ers to contend for the title. The team opens training camp on Tuesday, with the ambition of finally realizing “The Process” — a prospect also highlighted by Bleacher Report.
