LeBron James backs Jaylen Brown: ‘He’s misunderstood’ ahead of first season with 76ers
LeBron James voiced his support for his new teammate Jaylen Brown, saying many people misunderstand his demeanor and style. The comments came as the duo prepares for Brown’s first season with the Philadelphia 76ers and were made public during the Mind the Game podcast, co-hosted by Steve Nash.
As reported by Bleacher Report, James explained that Brown has his own personal voice and rhythm, which often makes people uncomfortable because it doesn’t match their expectations. According to him, when one’s way of acting is misunderstood, it becomes even more intimidating to others. LeBron added that he has had positive interactions with Brown: they have trained together three or four times this offseason and continue to communicate as two of the team’s leaders who know what it takes to reach the championship goal.
LeBron said he will spend more time with Brown to get to know him even better and to strengthen their on-court chemistry. He stressed that they both understand the process from the moment team training begins to the effort to lift the Larry O’Brien trophy, and that their interactions so far have been positive.
Bleacher Report also reports that LeBron described Brown as a teammate he respects and with whom he aims to build a strong relationship during the preseason and throughout the season.
