“Little Dancer” debuts in the West End with Tiler Peck: premiere on 15 February 2027 at Theatre Royal Haymarket
The musical “Little Dancer” will have the original premiere of its production in the West End: from Monday 15 February to Saturday 27 March 2027 at London’s Theatre Royal Haymarket, with tickets already on sale, as BroadwayWorld reports.
Directed and choreographed by Broadway legend Susan Stroman, winner of two Olivier Awards and five Tony Awards for “The Producers”, “Crazy for You”, “Contact” and “Oklahoma!”, the production will star Tiler Peck, principal dancer of New York City Ballet — an Emmy winner and Olivier nominee — in one of her rare London appearances and her West End debut.
She is joined by Olivier nominees: Julian Ovenden (“High Society”, “Downton Abbey”, “South Pacific”) as Edgar Degas, Laura Pitt-Pulford (“Into the Woods”) as the adult Marie and Josefina Gabrielle (“Chicago”, “Les Misérables”) as Martine.
“I’m thrilled to bring ‘Little Dancer’ to London with this extraordinary team,” Peck said, according to BroadwayWorld. “Many people know the sculpture, but few know about the girl, the muse, who inspired it. This show is about two determined artists who are ready for anything for their art.”
The musical, inspired by the true story behind Degas’s iconic sculpture, opened to enthusiastic reviews and sold-out performances in the United States — in Washington D.C. and Seattle — as well as a sold-out concert at Theatre Royal Drury Lane in 2025. The book and lyrics are by the Olivier and Tony-winning duo Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty (“Ragtime”, “Anastasia”, “Once on This Island”).
