“Major damage to the state”: Xhavit Shala — SHISH employees astonished. How did Hyseni not realize she was being wiretapped?!

Security expert Xhavit Shala, commenting on the case of Vlora Hyseni — who, among other things, is suspected of disclosing state secrets while heading SHISH — stresses that the damage caused to the Albanian state is great.

Invited on the “Off the Record” show with Andrea Danglli, Shala notes that the loss of trust is of extraordinary importance in relation to partners.

“The damage done to the state, the loss of trust from partner services. Trust is of extraordinary importance. If you lose the trust of partners, it is a great risk to national security. Let’s separate Vlora from the service. The service has hundreds of people, people with integrity, people who have fought terrorism, who have faced structures of partner services, who have had results. They have carried out spectacular operations with the CIA that they hadn’t done with any other service,” Shala said.

He also noted that many SHISH employees are astonished at how the head of the intelligence service did not realize she was being wiretapped.

“The situation must be recovered as soon as possible. I don’t care at all about Vlora Hyseni’s fate, to be honest. I have also communicated with employees and they feel extremely worried and betrayed. Some don’t even believe it — how is it possible for a service chief to fall… These actions aren’t done by someone below average, writing, chatting… Someone gave them guarantees,” he said.
