Mickoski at the Albanian-American Council gala: Albanians and Macedonians live in peace, we are one family
North Macedonia’s Prime Minister, Hristijan Mickoski, praised coexistence among Albanians, Macedonians and other communities during his speech at the Albanian-American Relations Council gala evening in New York.
He said he felt welcomed among the Albanian community and expressed his conviction that peaceful coexistence in his country will continue.
‘I come from a country of many ethnicities and faiths, where Macedonians, Albanians and others, Christians and Muslims, live next to one another in peace, unity and cohesion. I am proud of this,’ Mickoski said.
According to him, citizens, regardless of ethnic or religious affiliation, contribute to the country with the same dedication they show for their families. ‘We are one big family,’ he said.
Mickoski also touched on infrastructure links in the region, stressing the importance of roads, railways and energy projects connecting the Adriatic with the Black Sea and the Balkans with Central Europe.
He described these investments as important for NATO and as an alternative to the Russian energy presence in the region.
