Milan Iloski’s Hat-Trick Powers Philadelphia Union to Historic 4–2 Win
Milan Iloski scored a brilliant hat-trick and led Philadelphia Union to a 4–2 victory over Orlando City at Subaru Park, extending the club’s unbeaten run to a club record — 12 matches, with 10 wins and 2 draws. The club also entered MLS history for its extraordinary post-2026 World Cup form: with 32 points in their last 12 matches, Union equal the record for most points in a 12-game span in league history, the same figure Seattle Sounders FC reached in 2018.
As mlssoccer reports, three of the club’s academy players — Cavan Sullivan, Neil Pierre and Frankie Westfield — made their debuts for the US national team in the 4–1 win over Peru. For interim coach Ryan Richter, these youngsters have been key factors in the team’s turnaround: from the bottom of the Eastern Conference before the World Cup break, Union have climbed to sixth place and are in the race for a playoff spot.
Iloski improved his season numbers to 16 goals and 6 assists, entering the conversation for the MLS Golden Boot. He also became the third player in club history, after Dániel Gazdag and Julián Carranza, to record more than one hat-trick in the same season; Iloski had also scored three goals against Inter Miami CF in May, before Saturday’s performance.
According to mlssoccer, Philadelphia Union will return to the field on October 10 to host Real Salt Lake at Subaru Park (7:30 p.m. ET, Apple TV), and all of the team’s internationals are expected to be back for that match.
