Minister Ervin Demo Visits Tirana Fire Department: Fire Prevention a Priority for Next Season

Interior Minister Ervin Demo held a meeting with the leaders and personnel of the Tirana Fire Department, thanking them for their engagement during the fire season and interventions in various emergency situations.

During the meeting, Demo said preparations for next season must begin now, stressing that the focus should not be only on intervention but also on fire prevention through closer cooperation with municipalities and Civil Emergency structures.

“We have had fires in various municipalities across the country, where you took part and fought alongside your colleagues, protecting those communities, safeguarding public and private property.

I am very pleased that in our capital this service is being strengthened day by day, month by month, year by year — not simply by increasing numbers, but by growing professional capabilities and supporting logistics. We must do much more to minimize the cases where firefighter intervention is needed. This has to do with the management of forests, pastures and all the other measures we must take,” the minister said.
