Montenegro’s representatives were not in the UN Assembly hall when Netanyahu spoke
Montenegro’s representatives were not present in the United Nations General Assembly hall during Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech, the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed to the daily Vijesti.
Netanyahu appeared before the UN General Assembly in New York on Thursday, where, as last year, a large number of delegates left the hall in protest. The Israeli prime minister fiercely defended Israel’s military actions in Iran, the Gaza Strip and other parts of the Middle East.
“We will win. We have no other choice,” he said before the world body, once again dismissing accusations that Israel has committed and is committing genocide in Gaza, the BBC reported. After the delegates walked out, Netanyahu spared no harsh tones: “If there is still any moral coward who hasn’t left the hall, I ask him to do so now,” he declared.
Last year had brought a different scene: Montenegro’s delegate had stayed in the hall during Netanyahu’s speech at the time. The Foreign Ministry clarified then that an intern was in the hall, technically following the speeches.
