Prime Video unveils first teaser for “Apocalypse Z: New World”: the Spanish zombie thriller sequel premieres October 10 at Sitges

Prime Video has unveiled the first teaser for “Apocalypse Z: New World”, the long-awaited sequel to the Spanish zombie thriller “Apocalypse Z: The Beginning of the End” (2024) — the most-watched international original film ever on Prime Video, after only “Your Fault”. Direction is again entrusted to Carles Torrens, with a screenplay by Ángel Agudo and production by Nostromo Pictures (executive producers Adrián Guerra and Núria Valls); the story is inspired by the novels of Spanish author Manel Loureiro.

This time the action moves to the Canary Islands, which have become Europe’s last refuge after the outbreak of the TSJ virus. A supply expedition sets out for the continent and is joined by Roberto, a new recruit with dubious intentions — a dangerous mission that turns into a desperate fight for survival amid hordes of the infected and shattered loyalties: “save yourself, or risk everything to preserve that little humanity that remains?”.

The cast includes Carlos Alcaide, Julia Martínez, Mónica López, Tamara Casellas and Santiago Vaca Narvaja; José María Yazpik, known from “Narcos”, returns as Pritchenko, while Berta Vázquez returns as Lucía. Also present is the cat Pedrito, the audience favorite in the role of Lúculo, while Axel Medrano, Pedro Hernández, Javier Godino, Ujin Moreno and Mario Mayo also debut.

The teaser opens with Lúculo the cat wandering around a crashed helicopter in Madrid and a radio broadcast about securing supply routes between the continent and the islands. The film will have its world premiere at the Sitges Film Festival (59th edition) on October 10, 2026, and will debut on Prime Video on October 30, 2026 in over 240 countries and territories worldwide.
