New energy capacity in Cetinje: “SE Velestovo” solar plant in development

The “SE Velestovo” solar plant project of Nu Energy and Investment is in the development phase, as Vijesti reports. Cetinje mayor Nikola Đurašković met on Tuesday with company representatives, with whom he discussed the planned timeline, the project’s technical characteristics and energy storage with batteries (BESS).

According to the announcement, the company has already signed the contract for connection to the electricity grid — a key step toward realizing the project.

Nu Energy and Investment is an American-Turkish engineering-energy company based in Montenegro, specializing in renewable energy projects.

Implementing the project is expected to increase local electricity production capacity and contribute to diversifying Montenegro’s energy sources, at a time when the country is trying to reduce dependence on imports and traditional sources.
