Patiño de Ortiz Linares collection fetches €38.7 million in Paris: Fragonard, Watteau and Ingres break records

Graziella Patiño de Ortiz Linares’s collection sold at Christie’s Paris on September 23, 2026, with 60 lots realizing a total of €38,736,120 — a historic result well above the high estimate, as the auction house announced.

Works by Fragonard, Watteau and Ingres broke artist records during the evening sale, which drew strong international bidding.

The collection, assembled over several decades, was described by Christie’s as one of the most important private holdings of French 18th-century art to come to auction in recent years.
