PM Rama from New York: Tirana International Airport, proof of Albania’s transformation
Tirana Airport has become one of the symbols of Albania’s development and growth, with a steadily growing number of passengers and international connections.
In his address in New York, Prime Minister Edi Rama dwelled on the airport’s growth, stressing that for several years now it has been among the largest airports in the region by passenger numbers.
“This is the fifth or sixth year that we have the largest airport in the region,” Rama said, adding that the airport now handles more passengers than Belgrade’s.
According to the prime minister, this development is one of the concrete indicators of the change Albania has undergone. The growth in air traffic is linked to the expansion of tourism, the rise in international travel and the strengthening of the country’s ties with Europe.
Tirana Airport is playing an ever more important role in the economy and tourism, turning Albania into a connecting hub for the entire region.
