Podgorica: man arrested for allegedly threatening his aunt — prosecution orders 72-hour detention

The Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Podgorica has ordered detention of up to 72 hours for a person identified by the initials H.H., suspected of the criminal offense of domestic violence or violence within a family household. The decision was made after the incident was reported, in which H.H. is alleged to have directed serious threats at his aunt.

According to the prosecution’s statement, as reported by Portal Analitika, the suspect directed serious threats at his aunt in August, leaving her in fear for her safety. Investigators say the threats carry the elements of the criminal offense of domestic violence.

Following the 72-hour detention order, the competent prosecutor is expected to decide on further procedural steps — including a possible request for pre-trial detention or another security measure — depending on the evidence and the circumstances of the case.
