Protesters stop Arbërie Nagavci, Arian Tahiri and Besnik Tahiri: Call the session, pass the KLA law

Protesters of the “Not in my name” initiative held an action outside the homes of the heads of the parliamentary groups of LVV, PDK and the Alliance — Arbërie Nagavci, Arian Tahiri and Besnik Tahiri respectively, as Telegrafi reports.

They asked the parliamentary group leaders for the Assembly session to be called as soon as possible and for the draft law amending the Law on the Specialist Chambers to be voted on, which they consider important for the protection of the KLA and its former members.

During the confrontation with the protesters, Arbërie Nagavci said that the signatures for calling the session have already been collected.

“We have collected the signatures; it is a shame for you to tell me that I have done nothing,” Nagavci declared.

Besnik Tahiri, meanwhile, said that the signatures have been submitted and that the draft law now also exists.

“Yes, we collected them and we submitted the signatures the day before yesterday. The signatures are there, the law is there. Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi need this law,” Tahiri said.

Arian Tahiri also asked for the procedure to continue through the Assembly, stressing that it is now in the hands of the Speaker of the Assembly to call the session.

“The Law on the Special Court is with the Assembly, and now the Speaker of the Assembly must call the session as soon as possible,” Arian Tahiri said.

The protesters asked the parliamentary group leaders to turn their pledges to approve the legal changes into concrete action, ensuring the deputies’ support for processing and voting on them.

This action comes at a time when less than 72 hours remain until the deadline for electing the President of Kosovo expires.

According to the protesters, if the president is not elected and the country goes to elections, there is a risk that the draft law will not be approved by this composition of the Assembly.

The “Not in my name” initiative repeated its demand that the session be called and the law amending the Law on the Specialist Chambers be voted on.
