Rama Shares Footage of Koman’s Panoramic Road: A Transformation Amid the North’s Spectacular Scenery

Long considered one of the most dangerous roads in the country, the Koman road — built around 50 years ago — now looks completely different.

Prime Minister Edi Rama shared footage this morning of the Koman road, set amid the spectacular landscape of northern Albania.

“Good morning, and with the transformed Koman road, amid the spectacular landscape of northern Albania, I wish you a good day,” Rama writes.

Reconstruction of the road began in February 2025, with a fund of around 2.5 billion lekë.

The road serves to connect some of the country’s most important tourist destinations, such as Lake Koman, the Shala River, Valbona, Theth, Curraj i Epërm and on to Kosovo.
