Red-and-yellows in crisis: 9 matches without a win and no goals in Sedloski’s six — now Scotland in Skopje
North Macedonia’s football team is breaking unpleasant records: with last night’s 0-2 defeat to Slovenia, the red-and-yellows recorded their ninth consecutive match without a triumph, as Sport Plus writes.
According to the sports outlet’s calculations, in the six matches led by coach Goce Sedloski, Macedonia has not scored a single goal and has conceded 13 — and only once forced the opposing goalkeepers into a save, precisely last night against Slovenia. Sport Plus notes that goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski saved the team from an even heavier tally.
Sedloski came to lead the national team after changes at the Football Federation, where the new president Masar Omeragić replaced Blagoja Milevski with the promise of ‘fresh blood’ and a fight for the World Cup play-offs, Sport Plus recalls.
After last night’s match, the coach said it is not easy to play against strong national teams, that the defeat hurts, that they did not score, created many chances and that he must congratulate the boys, adding that in three days they have the next match and must prepare.
The next challenge is played in three days in Skopje against Scotland, followed by the away trip to Switzerland.
