What happened? Ray J rushed to hospital
Ray J was rushed to hospital after suffering a health problem during a live internet broadcast.
According to TMZ, the R&B singer was broadcasting from Fab Factory when his condition worsened. His mother, Sonja Norwood, was also on the broadcast.
After the situation, an ambulance and firefighters were called to the scene, while the 45-year-old was taken to a nearby hospital for heart-related problems, according to sources cited by TMZ.
In footage from the livestream, Ray J, whose real name is William Ray Norwood Jr., is seen being taken out on a stretcher and placed in the ambulance.
At several moments in the video, paramedics are also seen caring for the singer, who had medical equipment placed on his chest.
TMZ reported that the ambulance call was “strictly for medical reasons” and that, according to sources, there was nothing unusual or suspicious about what had happened.
Ray J is currently in the middle of a 180-day streaming marathon, which he has called “Rayhab”.
According to TMZ, his mother, Sonja Norwood, had stayed awake for long periods while he continued the broadcasts.
Earlier, in January, Ray J had said doctors had told him he might have only a few months left to live, after a reported hospitalisation for “heart pain” and pneumonia.
“2027 is over for me. That’s what they say,” he had said in an Instagram video.
He had also added that, if his condition ended fatally, he wanted to be cremated and not buried.
Later, the singer told TMZ that doctors had recommended bed rest because of his condition. He also said he was taking cholesterol medication, as well as medicines usually used for patients at risk of heart problems.
