“Roadmaps for the countries that have made progress” – Von der Leyen: Albania has made fantastic progress in the process! Continue with

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, in her remarks during today’s (September 30) media conference at the Prime Minister’s Office, after meeting head of government Edi Rama, said Albania is among the advanced countries in the integration process and the EU has prepared roadmaps for it and the other countries, with the aim of integration.

“Roadmaps for these countries that have made greater progress, for integration,” she said, among other things.

She went on to praise Albania’s progress: “Albania among the leading countries with fantastic progress in the integration process,” said the head of the European Commission.

But she asked Albania to continue with further reforms and not to stop, as well as with inclusive political dialogue in the country. “Continue with the reforms and inclusiveness in political dialogue,” von der Leyen said.

Von der Leyen said Albania is among the leading countries in this process and stressed that significant progress has been marked over the past year.

“It is a great pleasure to return to Tirana. My experience is such that Albanians hold Europe in their hearts. Albania is among the leading countries in our integration process. I come every year to see the progress and, after a year, Albania has done fantastic work with progress. Very important progress, because it means we see the world with the same eyes,” she said.

She added: “I want to convey to Albanian and European citizens the fact that Albania’s membership will not only make Albania stronger, but also the EU. Further reforms are needed across all the open chapters, protection of the environment, Albania’s stunning nature, and those reforms must be fully implemented to bring real change. This requires genuine commitment beyond political divides and dialogue with society to respond to all of society’s concerns.”
